Hogwarts Castle is a large, seven-story high building supported by magic, with a hundred and forty two staircases throughout its many towers and turrets and very deep dungeons. The castle was built in the late Early Middle Ages (c. 993) by a wizard architect and the four most celebrated wizards of the age: Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. The castle houses Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, regarded as the finest wizarding school in the world.

The House Dormatories are home to the students while they study at Hogwarts.
Gryffindor common room: located in Gryffindor Tower, through the Fat Lady's portrait.
Hufflepuff common room: located in Hufflepuff Basement, below ground level behind a stack of barrels near the kitchens.
Ravenclaw common room: located in Ravenclaw Tower, beyond a bronze eagle-shaped knocker that poses a riddle.
Slytherin common room: located in Slytherin Dungeon, below ground level beyond a stone wall.

St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries is a wizarding hospital located in London, England. It is believed to service all of Great Britain's Wizarding Community. The emblem of St Mungo's is a wand crossed with a bone.

The Ministry of Magic is the primary governing body of the magical community. Headed by the Minister for Magic, the Ministry of Magic is responsible for regulating and enforcing laws for the magical community, as well as keeping said community hidden from the Muggle world.

Hogsmeade is a picturesque little village of cottages and shops, with enchanted candles hanging in the trees during the holidays. Hogsmeade is the only all-wizarding village in Britain. Hogwarts third years and above have been permitted weekend trips into the village with signed permission slips from their guardians. Mainly, students frequent the High Street in the village which contains the named specialty shops and pubs such as Zonko's Joke Shop and Honeydukes. Otherwise, they wander on to observe the infamous Shrieking Shack. It is also near the location of the train station used by the Hogwarts Express.

Diagon Alley is a cobblestoned wizarding alley and shopping area located in London, England behind a pub called the Leaky Cauldron. Inside the alley is an assortment of restaurants, shops, and other sights. All items on the Hogwarts supply list can be bought at Diagon Alley. The alley is completely hidden from the Muggle world which is right outside of its boundaries.
